What is Chiropractic Care?

Chiropractic Care is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on treatment and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.

Chiropractors are primary care practitioners, who are trained to develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment / management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies.

How long is a Chiropractic Visit?
Typically a regular session will be 10-15 minutes. An initial examination takes 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the complexity of your primary complaint. A re-examination will be approximately 20 to 30 minutes. However, exceptions can always be made by Dr. Dobrzanski, and treatments will always be customized to your condition.

There are a lot of terms I am unfamiliar with, what does each mean?
We can provide a basic understanding for the services and products offered by Dr. Dobrzanski and she will be able to go more in depth should you have any further questions or concerns.

Gonstead Chiropractic:
Gonstead Chiropractic is a system of analysis of the spine which identifies the area or areas of decreased spine function, and corrects those areas using adjustments which are specific, precise and as accurate as possible. Great care is taken to ensure a bio-mechanically correct position and precise thrust to provide the most accurate and painless adjustment possible.

Active Release Technique:
ART is a technique utilized for the diagnosis and treatment of soft tissue injuries. It involves the application of precise pressure to the muscle tissue while the tissue is stretched through its range of motion. ART is utilized to insure that the soft tissue surrounding the bones and joints are relaxed and functioning to support the adjustments provided during your treatment.

Kinesio Tape:
A proprioceptive tape which mimic the qualities of the skin, muscle, ligaments and tendons in order to effect treatment of those soft tissues. Kinesio Tape may be applied to provide a longer lasting support to an area being treated.

Neuromuscular Facilitation:
Neuromuscular Facilitation involves the examination of the neuromuscular skeletal system, to insure the communication within the system is functioning at the proper rate. This insures that the neurology and soft tissue are functioning to support healing of the area being treated.
